Drivers Age

The minimum Driver’s age is 21 years. However, age requirements and restrictions will apply for larger car groups.

The maximum driver’s age is 75 years.

A young driver’s fee of EUR 5 per day up to a maximum charge of EUR 50 per rental will apply for drivers from 21 years to 24 years.
A senior driver’s fee of EUR 5 per day up to a maximum charge of EUR 50 per rental will apply for drivers from 72 years to 75 years.

Driver’s License

The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving license for at least:

1 year for mini, economy, compact, intermediate, standard and full-size vehicle groups.
3 years for luxury and premium vehicle groups.

Also, a valid ID card and passport and booking confirmation voucher would be required at time of pick up.

National Driving License is accepted, if the driver holds a valid driving license with Latin Characters.

If the National Driving License is not in Latin Characters a valid International Driving License is required.
International Driving License must be accompanied by the original domestic license of the driver.

Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation.

 

Please note that we reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further identification checks if which needed may include an identity check with an external organization.

All additional drivers must meet the same license requirements as the main driver.

Insurance Coverage

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
It is included in your rental amount.
Collision damage waiver reduces the customer’s damage responsibility to the excess/deductible amount.  The excess amount of CDW will depends on the vehicle groups:

Theft Wavier (THW)
It is included in your rental amount.
Theft Waiver - reduces the client's financial responsibility for loss or theft to the vehicle to the sum of the deductible.
The excess amount of THW will depends on the vehicle groups:

Third Party Liability Insurance (TPL)
Third Party Cover is included in your rental amount.
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a limited cover for personal injuries and material damages.

Please Note: The Accident Statement should always be supplemented so that the insurances covers will be in effect. If there is a third party involved to an incident, clients should call the police authorities to the incident. In case of car damage or a car theft, an administration fee (D.A.F.) of EUR 40 will be charged to the driver.

Insurance Exclusions/Voids

Collision Damage Waiver does not cover: damages provoked at the underside part of the vehicle, inside part of the vehicle-saloon, tire punctures, wheel damage, interior damage, wind shield, wrong fuel, damage to lights or lenses, mechanical damage, mirrors, car key damage, the antenna.

Collision Damage Waiver will be voided if damage is caused by: driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, unauthorized drivers, racing or speed contest or competition, unlicensed driver

or driver training, driving over state or international borders in violation of the Rental Agreement, towing or pushing, intentional damage, simple negligence, gross negligence or recklessness, driving off of a regularly maintained roadway, using the vehicle for hire, driving in violation of local traffic laws, failure to secure the car keys, or failure to lock or secure the vehicle.

Attempted theft of the vehicle, car key loss, theft of the personal belongings that were in the vehicle, acts of God and Terrorist Attacks are not covered by any insurance. The car key and the Police Document for the theft vehicle that reported by the driver of the car, should always be presented so that the insurances’ covers will be in effect.

Excess Reduction

CDW+ is optional and reduces the excess amount on CDW up to a small manageable amount under the condition that the damage is not due to violation of Road Circulation Code. CDW+ does not provide any coverage concerning damages provoked at the underside part of the vehicle, inside part of the vehicle-saloon, wind shields, mirrors, car key damage, the antenna, incorrect fuel, acts of God, Terrorist Attacks, during transportation by ferry without prior authorization by the company at the time of pick up the car, wheels and tires. The Accident Statement should always be supplemented so that the insurances’ covers will be in effect. In case of car damage or a car theft, an administration fee (D.A.F.) of 40,00 EUR will be charged to the driver. This charge applies irrelevantly of party at fault. Vehicles returned with stained or dirty interior or extremely dirty exterior that cannot be cleaned with normal / common washing, client’s will be charged for minimum 30 to 80 EUR for the biological cleaning of the car. If the driver drives the vehicle off the official road network and the vehicle immobilized, the driver will be charged the cost of towing the vehicle from the roadside assistance.

The price of CDW+ varies from Euro 15 to Euro 28 according to the vehicle groups

If the renter opts for CDW+, a refundable deposit amount varying from EUR 275 to EUR 750 according to the vehicle groups will be blocked on the credit / debit card.

SCDW is optional and reduces the excess amount on CDW to zero.

The price of SCDW varies from 20€ to 40€ according to the vehicle groups .

Fees

Airport Fee is included in the rental.

Other fees:
1. You may be required to pay local tolls or highway fees, depending on where you intend to drive.
2. Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. It traces of smoke is found in the vehicle; a penalty fee will be charged.
3. It is your responsibility to cover the cost of any traffic infringements, such as speeding or parking fines or toll evasion, incurred during the rental period. The supplier will charge you a fee to administer any fines.
4. Vehicles returned with stained or dirty interior or extremely dirty exterior that cannot be cleaned with normal / common washing, client’s will be charged for minimum EUR 30 to EUR 80 for the biological cleaning of the car.

Roadside Assistance

Roadside Assistance is available 24/7 and free of charge. The vehicle is covered by roadside assistance for any mechanical faults. If the call out is due to driver negligence, for example lost keys or running out of fuel, the renter may be charged a breakdown call out fee.
Contact phone number of the road assistance indicated to the signed Rental Agreement and/or provided by the rental agent at the time of pickup the car. It is recommended to contact the branch directly in the event of required roadside assistance. If the driver drives the vehicle off the official road network and the vehicle immobilized, the driver will be charged the cost of towing the vehicle from the roadside assistance. Fuel Policy

The vehicle will be supplied with sufficient fuel and must be returned with the same level of fuel . Otherwise, missing fuel plus a refueling fee of EUR 20 will be charged on your return. Fuel charges are payable at the rental desk.

Cross Border Travel and Driving Restrictions

Cross border travel is not allowed.

There are certain roads and areas that you cannot drive this vehicle on. Any unpaved roads or off-road driving is prohibited. You will not be insured if you drive on these roads and therefore you will be fully liable for any damage that might occur.

Transfer by Ferry boat
Travel by ferry is allowed upon request at the rental desk and an additional charge of EUR 75 (fixed amount) will apply.

Insurance does not cover damages during transportation by ferry without prior authorization by the rental company.

VAT

VAT is included in the rental price. However, for all the optional extras or special equipment, or extra services, VAT would be levied separately.

 

Payment Methods

 

Only Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards are accepted for both rental amount payment and deposit payment and must be on main renter's name while paying at the rental desk.
American Express, Diners credit cards, prepaid cards and cash payments are not accepted.
Please note that a credit/debit card surcharge may be added when your payment is processed.

Deposit

Part of the excess amount depending on car group will be authorized against your credit / debit card at the time of rental.  This amount will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 30 days, depending on your bank, to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned check(s) or insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process.

Deposit can be minimized according to the scheme of insurances customer might select . For more information please check at the rental station.

Delivery and Collection

Delivery and collection service is on request. Please send your request at least 48 hours prior to your arrival to reservations@carq.rent.

For delivery and collection service additional charges per kilometer may applies. Please check at the rental office for more details.

Out of Hours

Out of hours pick-up and drop-off are available for an additional charge of EUR 40 per service. If out of hours charge is not included in your voucher must be paid at the rental desk prior your pick-up. First change of pick-up and/or drop-off scheduled time between out of working hours is free. In multiple changes an additional flat fee of Euro 15 is applied payable at the rental desk prior your departure. 

Grace Period

For vehicle pick-up
60 minutes of grace period is allowed from the scheduled time. After the grace period reservation is considered as No-Show and will be canceled without prior notice. In case the customer arrives after the grace period, then there is a late fee of 20 euros and exceptionally for the period June - August the late fee will be charged 40 euros.

For vehicle drop-off
60 minutes of grace period is allowed from the scheduled time. If the customer returns the vehicle after the grace period, extra day charge will apply plus a after hours return fee of 40 Euro in case of returning the car between out of working hours.

Amendments to bookings

If you experience any delays, you must contact the office immediately prior to your reserved pick-up time. If you experience any flight delays and you have provided our office with your flight details and your mobile number an agent will track your flight and reach out to you via phone call to schedule your pick-up.
You will not receive a refund if you return the vehicle early, reduce the number of days on your confirmed reservation or downgrade the vehicle type from the category booked. Please check at the rental desk for more information.

Extras

Confirmation of Special Equipment’s depends upon the availability at the rental desk.
